The cornerstone company Aquaservice is located at Straumgjerde in Sykkylven municipality in Sunnmøre, close to what is described as Norway’s shortest salmon river. Salmon has become a key word: You don’t have to travel far in Norway to find an Aquaservice product. Since its inception in 1985, when Magnar Støylen founded the company, Aquaservice has been involved in the industry.
From 1986
In 1986, Our production of filter technology was patented. The classic three-way valve for fish transport, Aquatrans, was launched in 2000. The will and the urge to innovate is something you can almost touch and feel in “HDPE City”, Straumgjerde.
In 2008, Aquaservice was acquired by Ocea, which in 2015 was acquired by the Steinsvik Group. Steinsvik Group became ScaleAQ in 2019.
Full circle
In 2021, it came full circle: 3 Senior employees brought the company from ScaleAQ, and it is once again after nearly fourty years , Aquaservice – a local and 100% employee-owned company.
The company is in the throes like never before, with a high rate of innovation combined with a steady environmental focus, ever-increasing demand both at home and abroad – and steely faith in the aquaculture industry. Aquaservice has 20+ employees, 12,000m2 of production facilities, dedicated service department, large machinery including CNC machines. There is also a separate steel welding department, mirror welding equipment for large dimensions – as well as extruder welding equipment.
